The Department of Animal Science, in collaboration with the UFS HPC, presents a hands-on workshop which aims to enable researchers to use Linux and the High-Performance Computing (HPC) resources at the University of the Free State.
After attending the workshop, participants will be able to:
Recognise and use HPC terminology in the context of using the UFS HPC
Login to the UFS HPC
Request resources from the UFS HPC
Understand the key differences between Linux and Windows file systems
Navigate and use a Linux filesystem using the command-line terminal
The workshop will be presented by Dr Louis L. du Preez, a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Animal Science.
