Biography:
Lindie Coetzee is a lecturer in the Department of Criminology at the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein. She has taught across the criminology curriculum for more than two decades, with current teaching centred on Victimology and Criminal Behaviour: Biopsychosocial Perspectives at NQF Level 7. Alongside her academic work, she has volunteered at Tshepong Rape Crisis Centre, worked as a probation officer and Community Service Coordinator at NICRO, and served on provincial victim support task teams, experience that informs her case-based curriculum and assessment design. Her M.Soc. Sc research on formerly incarcerated mothers in South Africa led to a single-authored article in Acta Criminologica: African Journal of Criminology and Victimology, and her PhD continues this focus on criminalised mothers, stigma, and reintegration policy. She completed the UFS AI in Higher Education Short Learning Programme in 2026 and foregrounds AI-robust assessment and human-centred learning design in her teaching.
