DESCRIPTION:\n\nDEFINITIONSThe following words shall have the meanings set
  out opposite them and capitalised terms used throughout this Undertaking
  shall have a corresponding meaning:1.1. “Contract Terms and Conditions
 ” means the UFS’ official document setting out the HRA’s contractual
  terms and conditions\, pertaining to a student’s tenancy in a junior re
 sidence of the UFS\;1.2. “HRA” means the Housing and Residence Affairs
  office of the UFS\;1.3. “Prospective Student” means a student who int
 ends on registering as a student of the UFS\;1.5. “Registration Period
 ” means the official registration period of the UFS\, which dates are de
 termined and announced annually by the UFS in accordance with its academic
  calendar\;1.6. “Residence – Akasia1.7. “Residence Manual” means t
 he manual applicable to residences and accommodation facilities of the UFS
 \, which is available upon written request from the HRA and Student Commun
 ites a Division of Student Affairs\;1.8. “Rules and Regulations” means
  the rules\, regulations and policies of the UFS\, as amended\, substitute
 d or varied from time to time\;1.9. “Student” shall refer to the stude
 nt/individual whose details are indicated in the information block above\,
  irrespective of his/her registration status (if the context so requires)\
 ;1.10. “The Residence Head” means the head of the Residence\;1.11. “
 UFS” the University of the Free State including employees\, contractors 
 and agents of the UFS\; and1.12. “Undertaking” means this undertaking 
 by the Student in accordance with which he/she acknowledges and undertakes
  to comply with the terms and conditions as set out herein.\n\n \n2. APPL
 ICATIONThe content of this Undertaking is applicable during the Registrati
 on Period and beyond for the duration of the Student’s tenancy in the Re
 sidence and must be read together withThe Rules and Regulations of the UFS
 \, including (without limitation) –2.1. The rules and regulations pertai
 ning to residences as contained in the Residence Manual\; and2.2. The HRA
 ’s Contract Terms and Conditions.\n3. DECLARATION3.1. I\, the undersigne
 d Student/Prospective Student\, hereby voluntarily subject myself to the a
 uthority of theUFS\, specifically (but without limitation) the Senior Dire
 ctor: Housing & Residence Affairs\; Assistant Director: Student Communitie
 s\; Residence Head\; and Residence Committee/Assistants.3.2. I\, the under
 signed Student/Prospective Student\, further accept that my placement in t
 he Residence is subject to my anticipated registration as a student with t
 he UFS\, which must take place within or before the end of the Registratio
 n Period in order for my accommodation in the Residence to be confirmed an
 d/or to continue for the rest of the academic semester (6months) / year (1
  one).\n4. UNDERTAKING4.1. I\, the Student/Prospective Student\, by signin
 g this undertaking hereby acknowledge and undertake to -4.1.1. comply with
  the Rules and Regulations of the UFS and undertake to familiarise myself 
 with all the rules\, policies\, procedures and/or instructions prescribed 
 and/or communicated by the UFS from time to time\;4.1.2. subject myself to
  the rules\, regulations and protocols of the Residence as required and di
 rected by UFS\;4.1.3. familiarise myself and adhere to the Contract Terms 
 and Conditions which are applicable to all residence students residing wit
 hin a UFS residence during the Registration Period and beyond for the dura
 tion of my tenancy in the Residence\;4.1.4. register as a UFS student with
 in or before the end of the Registration Period\;4.1.5. Notify the Divisio
 n of HRA in the event that I am not a registered student upon expiry of th
 e Registration Period\; and4.1.6. Immediately vacate the abovementioned Re
 sidence\, return all Residence keys as well as any Residence property whic
 h may have been granted to me in the event that I am not registered as a s
 tudent of the UFS before or by the close of the Registration Period as con
 templated in paragraph 4.1.5 above.4.2. Should I not adhere to the content
  of this Undertaking\, I understand and accept that the UFS shall take mea
 sures against me in accordance with its Rules and Regulations in this rega
 rd. I further accept that these measures will be applied (subject to appli
 cation and discretion of the UFS) and may take the form of immediate evacu
 ation (without limitation).4.3. I acknowledge that I have read this Undert
 aking\, understand its contents and agree to its terms and conditions. I f
 urther acknowledge that I am signing this undertaking freely and voluntari
 ly.4.4. I hereby declare my age on the date of signature hereof to be ____
 _____ years\nI\, the undersigned Student\, confirm that I understand the n
 ature and extent of the undertaking described herein as well as the junior
  accommodation contract terms and conditions and further confirm that I in
 tend to be bound fully by the previously mentioned provisions\, in confirm
