Description
The Department of Animal Science, in collaboration with the UFS HPC, presents a hands-on workshop which aims to enable researchers to use Linux and the High-Performance Computing (HPC) resources at the University of the Free State.
After attending the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Recognise and use HPC terminology in the context of using the UFS HPC
- Login to the UFS HPC
- Request resources from the UFS HPC
- Understand the key differences between Linux and Windows file systems
- Navigate and use a Linux filesystem using the command-line terminal
The workshop will be presented by Dr Louis L. du Preez, a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Animal Science.
