- Participants will have a greater understanding of ethics and decision making in the research environment: Ethical decision-making as a process rather than an outcome
- Participants will learn about:
- Ethical Principles, and role of ethical principles in research
- Key norms and standards in health research in SA (As Revised by the National Health Research Ethics Council)
- Legislative framework and regulatory authority (Proposed Amendments 2016)
- Health Research Ethics infrastructure in South Africa
- Ethical obligations for the research community to promote social justice and community responsibility
